Hairstyle for winter 2008/2009

Hairstyle for winter 2008/2009

Summer might have ben all about breezy, no effort hair, but this winter it is time to pick up the pains, brushes and comb and get grooming again.
Far more exciting than flat - ironed locks, and not as tricky as you might think, the updo marks the return od easy sophiscation. It is not just about channelling your inner Dita either - from buns to beehives, ponies to plaits, the catwalks were full of creative ideas.

Here Alicia Keys looks pristine with this flattering updo. Her curly pinned style is a great modern take on a glam look, and provs that the updo can be quirky and current - but still look super chic.

How to get it:
For a simple look you can't beat a bun and and at Prada the look was chic, ballerina style. For a similar look, brush hair into a tight ponytail, positioned high on the head. Twist anti - clockwise into a neat bun and secure. Smooth flyaways with a serum, and finish with a shine spray.

If you are feeling adventurous, why not try a soft beehive as seen at Drek Lam? The style works best on unwashed hair, and requires plenty of backcombing. Style your hair with your hands rather than a brush, sweeping into a rough beehive, pinning as you go. Don't worry about keeping it neat - the tousled style is what keeps this look modern Spritz with plenty of hairspray and clamp with an oversized bow clip for a catwalk finish.
