Trimming Long Hair Trimming Long Hair

If you have long hair then you may dread the thought of anyone going near it with a pair of scissors and a comb but in reality, this is something that needs to be done in order for the hair to remain healthy. There is a common misconception that the people that have rather long hair do not actually cut it but this couldn’t be further from the truth and in actual fact, there are reports that state that trimming your hair regularly could actually help it grow faster and healthier.

Split ends happen to people with various different hair lengths and the thing is, if you do not have these trimmed, they will get worse and worse until finally, the hair is in really bad and dry condition as the inches of split ends grow and the hair will be virtually irreparable. This makes long hair look bad and therefore requires regular trimming to ensure that the long hair looks and feels as it should so.

You should ideally aim for a good trim around every six to eight weeks to make sure that your hair is perfect condition and seeing as most people’s hair will grow at a rate of around half an inch on a monthly basis, this tiny trim will mean that you are not actually losing any of the length. If you leave it longer however, the split ends will travel further up, resulting in more hair needing to be cut off.
